Terms and Conditions 

We look forward to welcoming you. When you make your booking, you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Murder Mystery, Tea Parties, and Social Gathering Agreement

Reservations:

Reservations for The William Peter Mansion are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis only. We can no longer keep dates "on hold".  A signed rental agreement and approved credit card on file are required to reserve a date. The William Peter’s Mansion will only charge the card on file with the permission of the host. Card on file will not be charged unless the following circumstances: the party does not show or/and if there are damages to the property. Your date is not confirmed until you have received a copy of the rental contract. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The balance of the rental is due seven (7) days before the rental date. No exceptions!

Pricing:

Host is required to call seven (7) days prior to event to confirm event, the number of guests for event, and pay the full balance of event. Host will be required to pay for the guests confirmed prior to event, even if not all guests come to event, the host is required to pay the full balance.  Consult your event coordinator for more information. To prepare for your event, we need all of our preparation time. Please do not interfere with our staff by showing up early. Your cooperation is critical and much appreciated.

The rental prices include the following:

  • Use of The William Peter Mansion, includes tables, chairs, linens, dishes, and décor.

  • Food service according to chosen package  

  • Free Parking on The William Peter Mansion property, unless otherwise directed by your event coordinator.

  • The William Peter Mansion capacity is 40.

Tours:

Tours are available by appointment only.

Smoking

Smoking is NOT permitted inside of The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast. Designated smoking areas are located for guests to use. Please note that offending guests may be asked to leave immediately and may be liable for professional cleaning of any rooms and any outstanding balance of nights booked but not taken through early departure.

 

Drugs

Use and possession of any kind of drugs is strictly prohibited in the Mansion. Failure to adhere to this rule will automatically result in a police intervention and the Guest(s) will be banned from the property.

Alcohol:

The William Peter Mansion does not provide alcohol for event. Hosts must provide their own wine and beer. No alcohol may be served to minors. The William Peter Mansion reserves the right to end alcohol service and/or the event at any time, for any reason, if our staff feels that behavior and/or alcohol consumption is getting out of control or dangerous.

 

Parking:

Ample free parking is available on the premises and on the west side of the building. Do not park in the lot across the street unless prior arrangements have been made with the owner of that property. Public parking lot is located a block from The William Peter’s Mansion, for guests to use if The William Peter’s Mansion parking lot is unavailable. Handicap parking is available for guests.

Damage Deposit and Insurance:

No damage deposit is required per se. We require a valid credit card and signature on file to serve as a damage deposit. Any outstanding charges or damage will be charged to the card provided on file, unless other arrangements are made.

Cancellation Policy:

We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favor of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. We do, however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can intervene, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your event, we will only be able to waive your liability for the balance of your contract if we rebook your date or if you cancel event seven (7) days before scheduled event date. If you are not available to rebook your scheduled event date or do not cancel seven (7) days before scheduled date, you are liable for the full remainder of your contracted balance. If host does not call seven (7) days prior to event to confirm, The William Peter’s Mansion reserves the right to cancel the event. 

 

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a booking in the event of things 'Beyond our Reasonable Control'.  We will not be in breach of our agreements and booking contract, nor liable for any failure to perform any of our obligations in relation to your booking, due to any adverse event, act, omission or accident which is beyond our reasonable control.  This includes but is not limited to: flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, interruption or fire, or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse or damage of building structures.  We also reserve the right to cancel a booking due to personal emergencies, including but not limited to, a death in the family, personal injury or any type of medical or personal emergency. Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full.  Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Liability: 

The undersigned agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The William Peter Mansion, its owners, employees and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, losses, actions and liabilities including: injury to persons, damage to property, including but not limited to those caused by any service, food or alcohol provider and/or their products hired or obtained by the Host; except for such claims, demands, losses, actions or liabilities that arise out of negligence or willful misconduct by said owners, employees or affiliates. The William Peter Mansion and its staff will also not be held responsible for lost, stolen or forgotten articles. The undersigned has read and agrees to abide by the above rental policies and hereby agrees to rent The William Peter Mansion.                                                                                 

 

Whole Mansion Overnight Rental Terms and Conditions

Reservations

Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.

In order for us to confirm a reservation, credit/debit card details are required to secure your booking and a One-Hundred Dollar ($100) Deposit. No payment is taken from this card, unless the following: the booking is not canceled seven (7) days, or 24 hours prior in booking with a less than seven (7) day notice, of the scheduled date of arrival, or you do not show, to pay for any outstanding damages and/or fees, or you use the card to pay on departure. 

It is the Guest’s responsibility to inform the Innkeeper of any special health issues or concerns they have that the Innkeeper would need to be made aware of to ensure the health and safety of the Guests’ stay.

 

Arrival and Departure

Check-in is available from 2pm to 6pm on the day of arrival. Check-in times outside of those specified must be confirmed with us prior to arrival. We ask guests to call us thirty (30) minutes prior to arrival to ensure a member of The William Peter’s Mansion staff is there to welcome you. During certain cases, when the Mansion has events going on, we may ask you to arrive before or after a certain time to ensure we can properly welcome guests.

We ask that you please vacate your room by 11:30am on the morning of departure.

Failure to follow proper check out procedure will lead to an additional $100 charge.  

No refunds for early departures.

 

Rooms 

Room rates are based upon double occupancy and full breakfast.  Each additional person in room will be assessed an additional charge.  Rates are subject to change without prior notice.  Rates do include applicable state and local taxes.

Cancellation by the Guest

We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favor of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. We do, however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can intervene, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases.

In the event of a cancellation up to seven (7) days prior to the scheduled date of arrival no charge will be made. If you do not cancel your reservation seven (7) days of the scheduled date of arrival a cancellation charge of the remaining balance will be charged.

Guest failing to arrive, without notification, may be responsible to a charge equivalent to the total reservation price. Reservations that are made in less than seven (7) day arrival will have 24 hours prior to check-in to cancel. If Guest does not cancel 24 hours before a cancellation charge equivalent to the room(s) single night rate will be made.

We take all bookings in good faith, as we are unable to judge reasons for change, cancellation or non-arrival, guests are reminded that no exceptions to the above conditions will be made and that any booking made with The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast for either accommodation or goods, services, meals or drinks that are pre- booked (verbal or written) forms a legally binding contract. For this reason, we advise that you take out a suitable insurance product to cover against unexpected costs such as cancellation fees. In addition, we may take legal action, through the Courts, to recover any outstanding debts.

 

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a booking in the event of things 'Beyond our Reasonable Control'.  We will not be in breach of our agreements and booking contract, nor liable for any failure to perform any of our obligations in relation to your booking, due to any adverse event, act, omission or accident which is beyond our reasonable control.  This includes but is not limited to: flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, interruption or fire, or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse or damage of building structures.  We also reserve the right to cancel a booking due to personal emergencies, including but not limited to, a death in the family, personal injury or any type of medical or personal emergency. Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full. Should you wish to, we will attempt to book you into another local bed and breakfast of the same grading in a similar standard of room(s). Should this establishment be more expensive than The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast, we will pay the difference for the first night of your stay. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

 

Car Parking

Parking is available for guests’ use at the side of The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast. Cars parked here are at owner’s risk.

Damage and Breakages

Please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant. We ask that if guest(s) uses the kitchen to keep it clean and in the condition when they arrived. If the kitchen is significantly dirty upon guest(s) departure, an additional Fifty Dollar ($50) cleaning fee will be added to bill and charged to the card on file. 

 

Keys

You have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you when you register on arrival. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. Lost keys will be charged at Fifteen Dollars ($15) per set.

 

Liability

This is our home and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. We are not responsible for accidents or injury, damages to personal property or vehicles, or for the loss of money or valuables of any kind.

 

Lost Property

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, there will be a minimum charge of Ten Dollars ($10) to cover postage and packaging. Or guests may come retrieve items during reasonable business hours.

 

Missing Items

We reserve the right to charge for missing items.

 

Payment

Payment is due on the day of arrival and we accept the following charge: credit and debit cards, American Express, Debit MasterCard, and Visa, as well as checks and cash. The exception to this policy is for bookings at peak times and / or special events where we reserve the right to take full payment equivalent to the room(s) rate. You will be informed of this at the time of booking.

 

Pets

Pets are not permitted in The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast. Well behaved assistance dogs are welcome.

 

Children

The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast is not a child-safe environment.  This does not mean that children are prohibited. The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast does not offer baby-sitting or child-care services.  For guests bringing a child to The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast, the child is to remain under the guests’ full and complete control and supervision at all times.  The guest accepts full and complete responsibility for their child’s’ behavior and will not hold The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast liable in any way and will indemnify and hold The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast harmless

Prices

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

 The rental prices include the following:

  • Use of The William Peter Mansion, includes tables, chairs, linens, and décor. 

  • Free Parking on The William Peter Mansion property, unless otherwise directed by your event coordinator.

  • Sound system with aux hook-ups

  • Cleaning and disposal of event waste.

  • Use of kitchen space, oven, and fridge. We ask to please keep it clean.

  • An onsite representative for the duration of your event.

  • Sleeping arrangements for 14 guests.

 

House Rules:

  • Renter is not responsible for taking out or putting away tables and chairs, cleaning the floors

  • Report all spills or breakage to the manager immediately so that proper clean-up measures can be taken.

  • All music should be kept to appropriate levels.

  • Children are welcome at The William Peter Mansion. However, it is your responsibility to see that they are supervised.

  • Smoking is allowed outside only and the ashtrays provided must be used. Please keep in mind that nicotine is toxic to plants and cigarettes extinguished in flowerbeds and pots can kill the plants.

  • Everything must be removed from the space the same day unless other arrangements have been made prior.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol is allowed, unless during special events such as World’s Largest Ghost Hunt. The William Peter Mansion reserves the right to end alcohol consumption service at any time, for any reason, if our staff feels that behavior and/or alcohol consumption is getting out of control or dangerous.  For guests abusing this privilege, as determined by William Peter Mansion: Bed and Breakfast, will be asked to leave immediately without refund.

Termination Policy

The William Peter’s Mansion Bed and Breakfast reserve the right, at its discretion, to terminate, without notice, an individual’s stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behavior or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others (Please note that noncompliance of our nonsmoking policy may constitute termination). In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.

 

 

 

 

Wedding Rental Agreement

 

Reservations and Deposits:

Reservations for The William Peter Mansion are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis only. A signed rental agreement, deposit, an approved credit card on file are required to reserve a date. Your date is not confirmed until you have received a copy of the rental contract and your receipt of deposit from The William Peter Mansion. A signed rental agreement and an initial nonrefundable deposit of 25% of the total of all fees. This payment serves to hold the venue for the specified date of event or wedding and is due at the time of contract signature. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Deposits paid for a reservation of a date are transferable to another date (if available). After ten days, all deposits are subject to the cancellation policy. 25% non-refundable deposit of total fees, due day of booking. The remaining balance of the rental is due one week of the rental date.

Rental Times and Pricing:

All rental time periods allow one (1) hour vendor set-up and one (1) hour vendor clean up time. For example, if you rent The William Peter Mansion for three hours, vendors and renter will have one hour before the event to set-up and one hour after the event to clean-up. If you would like more time, additional hours can be added as time allows at a rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100) per hour prepaid or One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150) per hour the day of the event. Consult your event coordinator for more information. In order to prepare for your event, we need all of our preparation time. Please do not interfere with our staff by showing up early. Your cooperation is critical and much appreciated.

  • Depending on package, tables will be prepared with stemware, flatware, dishes, and napkins.

  • Free Parking on The William Peter Mansion property, unless otherwise directed by your event coordinator.

  • Sound system with aux hook-ups

  • Rental with option to purchase overtime.

  • Cleaning and disposal of event waste.

  • An onsite representative for the duration of your event.

  • The William Peter Mansion capacity is 40.

  • One hour of rehearsal time during the week prior to your event (space availability/first-come first-served basis). Reservation required.

House Rules:

1. Renter is not responsible for taking out or putting away tables and chairs, cleaning the floors

2. Report all spills or breakage to the manager immediately so that proper clean-up measures can be taken.

3. All music should be kept to appropriate levels.

4. Dance bands or DJs must stop one hour before the end of your rental period to allow for the clean-up hour. Music for all events must conclude at 11:00 PM regardless of prepaid overtime.

5. Unfortunately throwing rice or other substances at the bride and groom, though traditional, presents an environmental hazard. Please use bubbles only.

6. Children are welcome at The William Peter Mansion. However, it is your responsibility to see that they are supervised.

7. Smoking is allowed outside only and the ashtrays provided must be used. Please keep in mind that nicotine is toxic to plants and cigarettes extinguished in flowerbeds and pots can kill the plants.

8. Everything must be removed from the space the same day unless other arrangements have been made prior.

9. The event must officially end at 12 AM, regardless of prepaid overtime. Any overtime for tear down past 1 AM is billed at $200/hour.

Tours and Rehearsals:

Tours are available by appointment only. An one (1) hour rehearsal will be available to you at no cost during the week before your ceremony on a space available basis and during our normal business hours. If necessary, a one-hour rehearsal may be scheduled after hours (on a space available basis.)                             

                                               

Catering Services;

The William Peter’s Mansion will be contracted for food service for event. Any outside catering services must be discussed with Owner Teresa Cook and approved by Teresa Cook. Hiring an outside caterer will not change event pricing. Menu for event must be confirmed one (1) week before scheduled event.

A copy of Rider Insurance must be two (2) weeks prior to event.

Photography/Videography:

Your photographer, videographer, and DJ may arrive one (1) hour before the start of your rental time. They may prepare an area for photographs, but must not interfere with The William Peter Mansion staff as we ready the facilities for your event. Photographers must not remove any paintings for the walls. Any objects that photographers, videographers, or DJ need to move must ask permission and have assistance from The William Peter Mansion Staff.

Decorations:

Decorations may not be hung with nails or screws which will damage the venue. Scotch tape is appropriate to use to decorate. All decorations must be approved by the staff of The William Peter Mansion. All decorations must be removed without leaving damages directly following the departure of the last guest, unless special arrangements have been made between the Renter(s) and the venue.

Parking:

A copy of Rider’s Insurance must be presented two (2) weeks before scheduled event date. If a copy of Rider’s Insurance is not provided, The William Peter’s Mansion reserves the right to cancel your event. Any outstanding charges or damage will be charged to the card provided on file, unless other arrangements are made.

Cancellation Policy:

Deposits are non-refundable. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your event, we will only be able to waive your liability for the balance of your contract if we rebook your date or if you cancel event Twenty-one (21) days before scheduled event date. If you are not available to rebook your scheduled event date or do not cancel Twenty-one (21) days before scheduled date, you are liable for the full remainder of your contracted balance.
